What Would a Trump Presidency Look Like?

Trigger Warning:
Interesting question...

Lots of people on both the right and the left have been stewing over Donald Trump's meteoric rise.  Specifically people have been bitching about just how horrible a Donald Trump presidency is.  Unfortunately most of the complaints are high on emotion, but low on any actual details.

So, with an election win no longer a farfetched notion, what might a Trump presidency look like?

"It would be chaos," Rubio said in an interview Friday on CBS. Trump, he said, "refuses to answer questions on any specific public policy" and "has no ideas of any substance on the important issues."

That's not entirely true, however. For voters interested in policy, Trump has indeed been frustratingly vague. The issues page on his campaign website is sparse. On some matters, he refuses to be pinned down. On others, he openly admits not knowing much, as he did when asked in Nevada recently about federal land ownership in the West.
I'd recommend reading the entire piece.  Not only is it an interesting read, but it's actually somewhat fair.  Or, you know, as fair as an ultra-liberal fish wrap can get at least.

The LA Times essentially makes the point that Donald Trump is approaching the presidency as a business.  That's what's been driving all of his rhetoric.  He's been wheeling and dealing in order to get elected to the most powerful office in the land, and he's operating under the assumption that he can do the same as president.  Basically Donald Trump views being President of the United States as being the ultimate CEO.

Unfortunately for the Donald the presidency doesn't work that way.  Sure he can wheel and deal in some aspects of it, but for the rest he's going to have to rely on building bridges with Congress.  Will the GOP leadership work with him?  It's doubtful.  In fact I could see the GOP leadership fighting the Donald harder than they ever fought Obama.  Will the Democrats work with Trump?

I think there's about as much chance of that as Bernie Sanders giving up on socialism.
