Obama, Ted Cruz Respond to #Brussels Attacks

Trigger Warning:
Warning: Objects in mirror are less presidential than they appear.

The city of Brussels, capital of Belgium, experienced a day of horror at the hands of cowardly ISIS thugs today.  Three bombings, two at the Zaventam Airport and one at a metro station, ripped through rush hour crowds.  The dust hasn't quite settled yet, but at the moment the casualties are 31 dead, over 180 injured.  Of course our esteemed president, Barack Obama, took time out of his rather busy Cuban love fest to offer a few words of encouragement.
It's the least he could do.  No, seriously, that is literally the least he could possibly do.  Obama's remarks amounted to no more than 50 seconds out of a 35 minute speech.  The president mouths a few platitudes about freedom, and expressing condolences, and doing whatever is necessary, blah blah blah blah.  God you guys, what the hell?  Don't you know how BUSY Obama is today?  He's got a whole pandering speech he's gotta give, and then he's got to head to a baseball game.  All this damn terror attack's going to do is cost him time.  Besides ISIS is the JV team anyways.  Hell they probably detonated their bombs on accident.  Don't waste Obama's time with this nonsense!

Obama may as well have said "hey guys, I'm really sorry about Brussels.  We got your back.  Now if you'll excuse me I have to go back to licking the inside of Raul Castro's butt hole."
How do you say "butt pirate" in Spanish?
Now let's contrast Obama's limp-wristed response with the response of, oh I don't know, Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz.  Cruz took it upon himself to give a news conference on the Brussels attack:
That's what a presidential response should be.  Within the first 50 seconds of Ted Cruz's speech he calls the Brussels attack exactly what it is-the latest battle in an ongoing war.  Ted Cruz links Brussels with Paris and San Bernardino.  He then goes off on Obama for refusing to do what is necessary to utterly destroy ISIS so that this sort of thing never happens again.  Sure Ted Cruz gets a dig or two in at Donald Trump; it's campaign season, after all.  Pointedly, though, he refuses to rebuke Donald Trump's call to stop all immigration to protect American citizens.  Ted Cruz allows that U.S. immigration policies in general need a serious second look.

More importantly, though, is the fact that Ted Cruz spent over ten times the amount of time Obama did commenting on the Brussels attacks.  That's the sort of response that the President of the United States should deliver.  Firm, crystal clear, and not tacked on hastily to a speech given in the capital of one of the most oppressive regimes in the Western hemisphere.  Ted Cruz was more presidential than the president.  If that's not a sad commentary in and of itself I don't know what is.

I would say Barack Obama should be ashamed of himself.  I'm almost positive, though, that it's impossible for him to feel any shame whatsoever.
Case in point...
