Dash And Peters - Expressing America's Frustration

Fox News suspended two commentators on Monday for using some rather...salty language on live television.  First up was retired Lt. Col. Ralph Peters, who was suspended for calling Obama a "total pussy" on Stuart Varney's show.  Varney had asked Peters for his opinion on Obama's Sunday night lecture, and the lt. col. did not mince words.

Next up was Stacey Dash.  The well-known conservative commentator was suspended for two weeks when she said Obama "doesn't give a shit" about terrorism:

Harsh words to be sure, but I can't help but feel like Dash and Peters are tapping into a larger sentiment where Obama is concerned.  Obama has previously said "ISIS is contained" just a few hours before ISIS-backed terrorists went on a shooting spree in Paris.  Obama also stated that there was no "specific and credible threat" to the US just days before the San Bernardino shooting.  In the aftermath of these events Obama's response was to push for more gun control, rather than getting tough on terrorists.  Hell, Obama specifically said he wasn't interested in "pursuing some notion of American leadership or America winning" when it came to ISIS.  It doesn't really seem like Obama's head is in the game when it comes to protecting the country.

We the people are starting to take notice of that fact, too.  A Gallup poll taken at the end of November showed that 50% of Americans disapproved of how Obama was handling the terror threatObama's speech in the wake of San Bernardino was well received by just 1 in 3 Americans.  Fully 43% of Americans polled rated Obama's response as poor.

Americans seem to be feeling a sense of overwhelming frustration with President Obama.  In the span of one month we've seen two major terror attacks that have shaken the foundations of our sense of safety to its very core.  Americans look to the president to comfort and lead them in trying times, but all Obama wants to do is lecture them.  He's more interested in taking away the rights of law-abiding citizens than he is in fighting the terrorists.  The American people have noticed this and they're not happy.

Dash and Peters are merely an expression of some of the anger of the American people.  My guess is we'll see more of it before Obama leaves office.
