Breaking News: Active Shooter, Hostages Taken in San Bernadino - Updated

From Fox News:
DEVELOPING: As many as a dozen people have reportedly been killed in what police call an active shooter situation Wednesday in San Bernardino, Calif., where SWAT teams were pursuing three suspects who may have escaped in an SUV.

Other reports said as many as 30 hostages were seen coming out of the building, a center for treating developmentally disabled people, near a public golf course where the event occurred. The local Fox TV affiliate said at least 12 fatalities occurred inside the building, which was surrounded by authorities, just before noon local time.
The incident apparently began just after 11:00 am local time when three suspects wearing masks and body armor walked in and started shooting.  The suspects have reportedly fled the scene in a black SUV, and the San Bernadino PD has confirmed this.

Obviously we can't speculate as to just what the hell has happened, but this doesn't look like a run of the mill crazy bastard shooting things up.  Of course we have to ask if this could possibly be terrorism given what happened in Paris.  The fact that ISIS has been threatening attacks in other countries can't be ignored either.

I'll follow this as best I can and post updates as I'm able.

Update: Well that didn't take long at all.  Martin O'Malley's ALREADY using San Bernadino to push for more gun control.  Kudos, Martin, you've impressed me with your absolutely disgusting actions:
Update: WUSA 9 is also reporting that police are investigating a suspicious package found on the scene.

Update: Oh boy, leftist twits are very eager to start a "national conversation" on gun violence.  Here's a round up of some of the tweets I've seen:

This one takes the cake, though I think.  The 352nd mass shooting this year?  Really?
Update: The Right Scoop is reporting that there's a name for one of the suspects that came over the police scanner.  I've seen the same floating around Twitter.  Lots of folks are saying it's a Muslim or Middle Eastern name, but I haven't been able to find anything corroborating it.  I'll let you know if I do.

Most disturbingly, news site RT.com is reporting that police are responding to a "shots fired" call at Patton State Hospital.  Patton is apparently 5 miles from the San Bernadino shooting scene.  Hopefully this is just a "fog of war" thing.

Update: Well I haven't been able to find any corroboration of a second shooting taking place.  I'm inclined to believe it's a fog of war situation at the moment.

Update: From Fox News:
DEVELOPING: Police in San Bernardino, Calif., have stopped a black SUV and shots have been fired in pursuit of possible suspects in the massacre of 'upwards of 14 people' at a holiday party in a county office building. There are unconfirmed reports that one suspect is down, another in custody and a third on the run.
 Update: From Fox News:
DEVELOPING: Police chasing a black SUV believed to be the getaway car for three gunmen who shot up an office holiday party in San Bernardino, Calif., Wednesday, murdering 14 people, captured or killed two suspects and were going house-to-house pursuing a third who fled on foot.
